District Court Adds Second Courtroom In Lovington
The district court in Lovington will open a second courtroom when the term begins September 5. An expanded back section provides a new room about 20 feet deep. District Judge John R. Brand says 50 filings are behind on the docket and a second judge is needed to handle non jury cases. Judge Paul Tackett will be here September 10 and Judge C Roy Anderson on September 24 for one week each. Judge George Harris will be here October 1 through October 6.

Graveside rites were held Friday at 5 p m for Sherian Rose Fontenot infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Fontenot of Monument. Rev Roy F George led the service at Glad Tydings Assembly of God Church Hobbs. Burial was in Prairie Haven Cemetery with Green Chapel directing. The child died Thursday evening at the county hospital. Survivors include the parents and four grandparents, Elias Fontenot and Mrs. Fontenot of Ville Platte Louisiana and Earl Hughes and Mrs. Hughes of Monument.
