Truck Driver Treated After Night Wreck West of Caprock
Fred Knight a truck driver for International Marketing Incorporated of Abilene was admitted to Lovington General Hospital at 3 30 a m after hitchhiking into Lovington from an accident eight miles west of the caprock on the Hagerman cut off. Knight of 10417 Mann St Houston Texas suffered a deep gash on the neck and a chin cut when his diesel pulling a load of jet fuel left the road crossing sand dunes and a drainage ditch. Knight said he was blinded by bright lights of an approaching car. The truck was not badly damaged. City officer Wayne Benson interviewed Knight at the hospital.
