Toby Younis, former state president of the Young Democrats, was granted parole from the state penitentiary. He had been convicted of obtaining money by false pretenses after a convict alleged he offered influence to help a burglary case in Taos. The sentence ranged two to five years and began in December of last year. District Judge David W. Carmody issued the sentence, and Younis was released on his first parole-board appearance.
