PSC Considers Use Of Nuclear Energy In New Mexico

Fund Begun For Burned Resident In New Mexico
A fund was started for George Strickland and his family after he sustained second and third degree burns in a mobile home fire on west Polk. Strickland, an oilfield worker, is treated at Bernalillo Burn Center in Albuquerque and his condition remains life threatening. A trio of local citizens opened a charitable account at Liberty National Bank for the Strickland family, with donations coordinated through Nell Matlock at the bank.

Mrs Carter Dies In Roswell
Effie Norah Anderson Carter longtime New Mexico resident and teacher died Sunday morning at St Mary Hospital in Roswell. Born 1891 in Plainview Texas she taught at Portales La Mesa Bethel Elida Lovington and adobe schoolhouse near Portales. Survived by two sons five grandsons one granddaughter and a nephew. Funeral held at South Main Church of Christ officiated by Dr Steve Eckstein with interment at South Park Cemetery.
