Lovington Opens Lea County Livestock Auction Arena
Lovington plans a new Lea County Livestock Auction Company to modernize regional cattle trade. The 60 by 100 foot metal building near Hobbs Highway will seat 225 and handle 1500 to 1800 cattle daily, with hogs and possibly horses and sheep later. Owners Sumruld Monteith Wooten Brown expect initial weekly sales, a cafe, and about four to five full-time staff.
