Union Oil Company reported a 1963 Chevrolet theft to Lovington police late yesterday afternoon. The white Texas licensed car, with black wall tires and no insignia, was taken between 1:00 and 4:00 PM from the company parking lot. Contents included a tan leather Zenith transistor radio a Halliburton aluminum suitcase with men’s clothing and three credit cards.

Abandoned newborn found near Aztec Theatre in Lovington
Two men discovering a newborn boy along railroad tracks north of Avenue notify the sheriff. Lovington police officer Sgt J E Polson rushed the infant to Lea General Hospital after it was found at 3 05 p m between the tracks east of the Aztec Theatre. The baby dubbed Tom weighed about five pounds and remained in an isolete bed with a healthy cry. X rays were taken but results unavailable early yesterday.
