Phone Booth Missing From Texaco Station Front
Area police investigated a missing public telephone booth from in front of J and J Texaco on S Main St. Owner Joe Lewis reported the booth vanished overnight after a cut wire left the booth’s mouthpiece on the driveway. The booth was intact Friday night and gone by Saturday morning.

Lovington Youth Killed in Tractor Accident
An 18 year old Lovington resident, Stanley Richard Chip Irby Jr., died when a tractor overturned onto him at the Alexander farm silage pit. The accident occurred after he moved tractors and cutters. a coroner’s inquest ruled accidental death.
