They must recruit 100 merchants and raise $5,000 for the program with a sales drive starting September 21. Carlsbad Couple Critical After Double Shooting
A Carlsbad man Charles II Manlove 30 and his wife Geneva 28 were in critical condition after a double shooting at their home. Police said Mrs Manlove was shot while fleeing toward a neighbor’s house. Officers arrived after hearing a shot and found Mr Manlove on the floor with a head wound. Police planned paraffin tests. The elder Manlove said he attempted to seize the rifle but could not restrain his son.

Arizona Woman Killed in Stage Coach Accident
Mrs. Ethel Victoria Gove, 52, of Phoenix, died in a stagecoach crash in Virginia City Montana. A laundry truck debris spooked the team causing the coach to overturn off Henry Street. Gail Tognotty, 15, of Trail BC, suffered a broken arm.

Mistake Causes Auto Damage Here Thursday
A Lovington teenager backed wrong gear and hit another car at Jimbo's Drive-In parking lot around 10 45 p m. Jerry Dan Love 17 of 200 S Main drove a 1960 Chevrolet struck by John Nathaniel Gilky Jr 17 of At 1 Levington in a 1960 Oldsmobile. Total damage about 140 dollars with Love’s car at 125 and Gilky’s at 15.
