Cross confesses in university student murders case
Ex soldier Cross, 22, admitted killing one woman while another showered in his Cross apartment after they arrived with Miss Rigsby from Dallas. Cecil Marvin Tate of Jackson admitted firing a sawed-off shotgun during a confrontation after an ice cream parlor incident. Lovington High School begins the new year with the Big Blue Band practicing at 9 00 a m for sophomores and 10 30 a m for upperclassmen on August 9 and August 10. Three Year Old Girl Taken and Hurt in Oklahoma
A three year old girl was abducted from her Enid home in Garfield County Oklahoma and found wandering on a county road in distress. Police questioned a neighbor's brother who claimed ties to Fort Worth and Houston. The girl, later admitted to hospital, was found to have been sexually mistreated and beaten.

Reuss charges drop in fatal scuffle with patrolman
Michael Reuss 18, son of Rep Henry Reuss, had manslaughter charges dropped after an investigation found the patrolman B. Cowart 53 died of a heart attack. Reuss still faces misdemeanor counts for resisting arrest and refusing to be searched in a civil rights demonstration. Dist Att Buck said no elements of manslaughter were present. Cong Hospital Near Saigon Found Hidden by Viet Cong
A Viet Cong field hospital about 35 miles from Saigon was uncovered by Vietnamese government troops in a search operation. The facility, capable of treating 280 wounded, yielded about five tons of medicine and surgical supplies, plus a large rice stock. Twenty five enemy dead and six captured were reported. the hospital was believed to have been a casualty of prior air strikes.
