Three Die on State Highways
United Press International reports three people died on New Mexico roads Friday as the statewide traffic death toll reached 196 for the year. A Mayhill woman 77 and her daughter-in-law died when their car went off rain slick road 83 and fell 60 feet. Victims were Maggie Curtis and Carrie Lou Curtis, ages 37. In Blanco Canyon, Charles Yazzie Begay about 60 died when his car crashed east of Blanco as speed and liquor were blamed. Marie Yazzie, 32, and her children Rosita 3 and Harold 5 were injured and taken to San Juan hospital in Farmington along with Ellie Curtis 56 and Kay Curtis 18.
