Lovington Flag Flight Ends After Five Years
After five years of night flying at Memorial Corner, Lea County Lovington the flag now awaits decision by the county commission. Jesse Benson a World War I veteran spearheaded the effort and secured White House approval to illuminate the flag during hours after sundown. The project began to honor Vietnam era service and pay tribute to soldiers who did not return while others bear lasting injuries. The question remains should the flag be hauled down as Vietnam era memories endure.

Winter Weather Still Makes News
Snow and mud hindered travelers in northeastern New Mexico as more than 26 inches of snow fell on Las Vegas though melting began with warmer temperatures.
