Expedition account from Socorro in search of Adams mine
George E. Christelaw recounts a September expedition with Patterson to the San Juan river area near Nolan's store. The party dwindled from nine to eight, found coal beds and abundant can oil, but no precious metals. They reached Winslow, Arizona, after failing to enter Navajo Nation canyons, noted fertile canyons and crops, and described extensive oil fields and infrastructure plans including a New York backed D and RK G road extension from Expinola to Albuquerque.
