Southwestern New Mexico Educational Association plans the annual session on Friday October 3 with about 400 to 500 teachers expected. The event will be held at Lordsburg School and Central School with a tea at the Women’s Club and a football game between the Mavericks and the High School. Dr Townsend will conduct workshops on guidance and curriculum. his wife Mrs Townsend will lead reading support. John L Larkin of Tularosa NM will preside as association president.

Sisters In Auto Crash Return Home From California
W. P. Johnson and Mr. Davis of Little Rock were returning to their home in California when their car collided with two sisters Madge Daniels of Little Rock and Mrs. Tukaska of Oakland, California. They suffered numerous wounds with Mrs. Johnson sustaining fractured ribs and a pelvis fracture. The cause of the accident was a blowout.

Lordsburg Wins Cup In Southwestern New Mexico Golf Tour
The Southwestern New Mexico Golf Association held its tournament in Lordsburg on Sunday September 7 with 64 entrants. Lordsburg now holds the cup after winning three titles, Deming has two, and Ft. Bayard and Hurley each one. The cup moves to the next host city for two weeks, then to Hurley for another event, with the winner taking the cup home for the two weeks.
