Lordsburg Labor Day Airport Dedication a Grand Success
Labor Day 1926 celebrated the dedication of Lordsburg’s 620 acre airport on the southern airway. Army Navy and Marine ships from San Diego and Fort Sam Houston attended under Lt K C Hawkins and Lt Harry Graham with crews, pilots, and officers. Events included air stunts, races, parachute drops, rodeo events, and a championship baseball game, praised by all air force spectators for hospitality and field quality. Dick Dillon’s reception and campaigns for state offices were noted amid the festivities.

Dr. GC P. Austin and his son J T. escaped with only slight bruises when a tire blew four miles east of Deming causing their Chrysler six coach to overturn while en route to a medical call in El Paso. Mrs Austin and Pauline planned to join but did not go.

Wonderful Vacation Trip Ends in Reno and Tahoe
Dr and Mrs B Anetin and Mr and Mrs Nat Gammon just back from a month long trip through the U S west. They drove to San Francisco and up to Vancouver with extended visits as far north as Canada.
