Laurie Ann Hansen born December 10 1968 in Silver City died October 18 from injuries in an auto accident near Animas. She is survived by her parents Linda and Harry Hansen and extended relatives. Funeral services were held October 20 at 11 a.m. at Middle Animas Cemetery with officiants from local churches.

Victor Moore Arrested In Connection With Shooting
Victor B. Moore a former Hidalgo County deputy was arrested October 19 on murder charges and released on $20,000 bond. He allegedly shot Ray Edington during a June 24 argument in the Rodeo area with a .22 pistol. Magistrate Rosalie Salinas disqualified herself. Judge John Scholl was assigned to the case and a November 9 preliminary hearing was set.

Two Out-of-State Men Charged In Burglary Case
Russel Paul Kansorka aged 49 from Toledo Ohio and Donald Anderson aged 45 from Chillicothe Missouri were arraigned October 23 before Magistrate Rosalie Salinas on a third degree felony charge of burglary of a dwelling. Bond set at 2500 each after arrest October 21 at the Elks Lodge at 3 14 p m by Police Chief Gray.
