City enforces new animal control fees in Lordsburg

The city outlines an impoundment fee of 10 dollars plus 15 dollars penalty and 4 dollars daily for untagged pets, with tag owners facing lower penalties. Pet ownership is limited to three dogs or three cats age three months or older, or five animals total, unless a kennel license is obtained for 25 dollars yearly.

Funds Released For Upgrading Clifton-Hidalgo Rail Line

Senator Pete Domenici announces the Federal Railroad Administration will release 175,000 in Local Rail Service Assistance to rehabilitate the Clifton Arizona to Lordsburg New Mexico branch. The project, begun in 1982 by Southern Pacific, will replace very light turn of the century rail with heavier rail to allow speeds up to 40 mph. The upgrade aims to improve safety and rail service in southwestern New Mexico.
