County representatives Kiki Chaires and Tommy Anderson met in Santa Fe with the Licensing Bureau the Bureau of Alcohol and the Bureau of Primary Health Care to review proposed health care facility areas within Hidalgo County Hospital. The plan adds four examination rooms in the primary health care wing and separates spaces for the Alcohol Bureau and Hidalgo Medical Services to use the east wing and northwest wing respectively, with state funds partly described for the Alcohol Rehabilitation Center.
Hidalgo County Commission met in regular session Tuesday and awarded the Rodeo Fire Equipment bid to Artesia Fire Equipment Inc. for 3716.55 dollars. Simona Pena Perea, age 79, died Tuesday October 2 in Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City. A Lordsburg resident for 40 years, she is survived by daughters Aurelia Grant Tucson and Martha Turner Lordsburg, sons Richard Samuel and Raynaldo Perea Lordsburg, with 21 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren. Rosary was October 7 at Curtis Bright Funeral Chapel in Silver City with interment October 8 at Catholic Cemetery.
The Lordsburg Housing Authority officially changed hands Friday October 5 with financial statements and documents moved to Region V Director Bill Harrison. The project remains Lordsburg property, rents are based on family size and income, and HUD guidelines apply. Job rehiring for local staff is required with a noon October 12 application deadline. Section 8 assistance will relocate to the Pyramid Administration office.
