Lordsburg residents rally for a town anniversary with parades dances and a frontier themed pageant. Forty entries plus floats and a fortune telling booth highlight festivities while residents prepare fashions crops and crafts for a frontier era celebration across July 7 and 18 at Palace Theatre.
Republican candidates led by U S Senatorial hopeful Herbert B Holt and Isidore Armijo arrived in Isburg Saturday night and met leaders in Lordsburg. The group spoke to the Animas Literary Club and planned active campaign efforts with Hidalgo County Republicans.
The column invites entries for a girls popularity contest naming Christine Pruitt Flossie Johnson Adkinson Vivian Siler Geneveve Pruitt Sara Gass Betty Hardordelin Augustine Annabelle agin Bessie Everett Evelyn Baldwin and promises worthwhile awards from H H Conder and local stores. Owner Mr. Evans hires top workers including a body man painter and hydraulic lift and overhead track for efficient repairs. The Evans Motor Company reports strong business growth and expertise in automobile service.
Supervisors for the Fair and Celebration on October 7 and 18 are named. Livestock, Barbecue, Home Economies, Field Crops Garden, Awards, Finance, Miscellaneous, and other committees set pen space reservations, entry deadlines, and exhibit requirements. Meat to barbecue due by 6 p.m. on the 16th. various exhibits due by the 16th or 17th with contact points Mrs Jones Mr Kerr and Mr Townsend.
The Ardelbide brothers Garrett and Ollie continue to win athletic victories in California. Their grandparents Dr. and Mrs. J. G. Egan are cited as sources of inspiration for clean living and strong morals reflected through generations.
S E Webster chair man of bear Duncan Arizona was killed when the milk truck he drove overturned on the Lordsburg Duncan highway about twenty miles from Lordsburg. He was alone in the truck. the crash occurred around 12:90 pm. Death was instant with a crushed head and multiple bruises.

Anthony Gon ner Lyge Conner Sallie Richardson Knight of Red Rock George Huntchiven of Lordsburg came to New Mexico and Arizona in 1884 from Texas. My Hutchison celebrated his 76th birthday September 17 and has spent about forty six years in New Mexi co and Arizona. We would like to have the names of other old timers of this district.

Duncan girls defeated Virden 15-6 and 15-9 in volleyball while the Virden faculty lost the first 15-5 and then defaulted the second. Virden girls beat Duncan 44-0 in a 30 minute match. Marion Mortensen returns from hospital. Parley Lunt reenters classes after back treatment. About 49 students remain in four year high school. Upcoming rivalry games and a high school founded PTA program with three one act plays, plus a growing orchestra and beginner instrument classes.
Sheriff Allen's office arrested Clifton Co Croath Wail after he swiped a Nash car from Wink Texas and crossed into New Mexico. Special agent J J McCaffrey joined Tuesday and filed a U S Commissioner's complaint. the suspect pleaded guilty to transporting a car in interstate commerce.
Palace Theatre mails two week program cards to holders for free tickets redeemable at the box office on the program date. Beginning Friday October 10 evening shows start at 7:90 p.m. on weekdays, 7:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with matinees at 2:90 p.m. on weekends.
Baker represents the G M C Motor Truck Company on a transcontinental goodwill tour. A convoy of 145 trucks will pass through Lordaburg on Thursday, November 6.
