Lordsburg High School earns satisfactory NCA report
The North Central Association gave Lordsburg High School a satisfactory three day inspection praising clean facilities and strong departments. It urged modernization of the library with computers expanding guidance counseling and adding interactive teaching methods while noting the need for career oriented classes and expanded honors offerings.

Services Held Monday For Marvin Harper
Marvin Harper 80 lifelong area resident died Friday at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque. Funeral Monday at Lordsburg Church of Christ at 2:00 with Ed Kerr officiating. Interment Mountain View Cemetery. He was born July 23 1913 at Bedrock to James Madison and Ida Agnes Harper. He married Gladys Anderson June 8 1935. He ranched and worked at Banner Mine and Tyrone during WW II. Later ran Harper's Gulf Service Center in Lordsburg for 16 years. Survived by wife Gladys daughter Joyce Sunnie Harper Hatch four grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Casket bearers. Arrangements by Bacas Funeral Chapel.

Lordsburg School District has cut dropout rates over three years from 13.1 percent in 89-90 to 3.4 percent in 91-92, placing 35th of 88 districts in New Mexico. Principal Vance Lee credits programs like Drug Free Schools and Renaissance, plus improved attendance tracking and incentives for keeping students in school.

Christmas Parade Shaping Up For Friday Route
Coordinators John Hill and Clark Smith outlined the lighted Christmas parade set for Friday December 3 at 7 00 PM in conjunction with Moonlight Madness. The route starts Border Cowboy to Main Street then Railway Boulevard to the nursing home, back via Wabash and down Main to the Projects where it ends.
