Incomes Rising Among Hidalgo County Families
A nationwide study finds Hidalgo County families shifting up the income ladder with 50.9 percent reporting $8,000 or more left after taxes. In the county 23.2 percent earnt $5,000 to $8,000, 14.0 percent $8,000 to $10,000, 19.4 percent $10,000 to $15,000, 17.5 percent above $15,000, while inflation left many no better off by year end.

J L Amin Dead At 54 In Truth Or Consequences
Joseph Lee Amin 54 of Truth or Consequences died Monday morning at St. Ann's Hospital after a long illness. He was WWII Air Force veteran, co owner of Amin's Department Store, and served on the Hot Springs National Bank board. He was a husband father and brother with ties to Our Lady of Perpetual Help parish. Funeral services were held with interment at Vista Memory Gardens.
