Junior Red Cross Membership Drive Starts Monday
The annual Junior Red Cross enrollment begins Monday November 30 in Lordsburg Virden and Hidalgo County schools. Chairman R V Traylor aims to exceed last year’s record of one thousand enrollments and notes programs aiding children overseas veterans and local hospital patients. Enrollment is by classroom in grade schools and by groups in high schools with fifty cents per classroom and one dollar per 100 high school students.

More Space To Be Added To Liberal Building
Foundation work began Monday to add 22 by 60 feet of space to the Liberal building. Homer Brooks funds and oversees the project with various workers, expanding storage and equipment rooms including moving the Liberal press to the back part. Construction will take most of the winter.
