Cureton and Sons purchased five coming three year old Hereford heifers plus a bred bull from Albert ll and son, descendants of Jesse Prince Domino and Mischief. Calves from the herd are expected early next year, boosting southwestern cattle breeding efforts and aiding the Southwestern New Mexico Livestock Show and Fair.

Mr and Mrs Harry S Chase have returned from a delightful honeymoon in California visiting relatives Mrs Robert Wheeler Mrs Joe Bell and Mrs Tom Lister and touring cities around Long Beach including surrounding areas.

Mayfield discussed government structure from New England towns to Lordsburg’s possible city status and noted tax figures. Muir recalled pioneer Thanksgiving era church building and local hospitality stories.
County Superintendent Agnes Edington took Mrs. Claude Snyder to El Paso on Monday for treatment by Dr. Goodwin, a former chief surgeon of Carrie Tingley Hospital. Mr. Snyder aided in arranging this consultation with the noted surgeon. The article urges more arrangements so adults in special cases may receive care at Carrie Tingley Hospital.
Mr and Mrs Ben Cochran entertained with a reunion dinner Sunday night. Afterward guests shared games. The McNutt Oilers beat the Main Draggers 7 to 6 in a Thursday donkey baseball game at Lordsburg High School stadium. Lightning the prize donkey hindered some riders amid wobbling donkeys while Donkey antics drew a large crowd and Bow Bowbow? Bow is not needed. Bow. The Rain bow Girls organized the event with FE J Spitzley bringing the donkeys from S and D Amusement Company. Glenn Moses reported from the sidelines.
Former Governor Clyde Tingley, now Albuquerque mayor, with Mrs. Tingley and colleagues John Bingaman and John Wrinkle, greeted friends Friday. He said he plans to build a bigger and better Albuquerque after years in office. The party left for Deming after luncheon.
The N. and T. Sewing Club gathered Tuesday at Mrs. George Trimble’s residence. Present were Mesdames Singer, Green, Holliday, McInnis, Jones, Scofield, Fuller, Conner, and guests Mrs. Fisher and Mrs. Wells. Refreshments included fruit salad wafers gumdrop cookies and coffee.
The Lordsburg Assembly of Rainbow for Girls hosted Miss Frances Schroeter Grand Worthy Advisor of New Mexico at the Masonic Temple. A luncheon preceded the initiation of Mary Frances Broun and Ernestine Bonar, with remarks by the Grand Worthy Advisor and a presentation of a woven rug.
The Methodist Missionary Society met at Mrs. Bryan Hall's home with thirteen members present. Officers elected for the coming year include President Mrs. L. B. Robinson and Recording Secretary Mrs. George Ewan. Next meeting hosted by Mrs. Charley Fuller at the ranch home.
Mrs. Wm Townsend hosted a Thursday November 17 Mexican luncheon at her mother Mrs George Trimble’s home. Prizes included a hand blocked Mexican table cloth and a linen luncheon set with many participants named among attendees.
Mrs. Luella 8 Clark and the Rainbow Girls express gratitude to all who aided the donkey ball event. They especially commend school officials for cooperation and the boys who participated in the games.
The Pacific Southwest Area YMCA held its strongest conference yet in Lordsburg and voted to return next year. Leaders from Albuquerque, Bisbee, Douglas, El Paso, Miami, Phoenix, San Francisco, and Tucson attended. The banquet featured music and speeches including address by Dr. Fred G. Holmes and remarks by Mayor H. O. Janstad.
Mrs. Dick Lewis hosted a surprise party for Mrs. Robert Pierce on Tuesday. Guests drew nursery rhyme characters and performed to determine the winner, with Mrs. Pierce receiving a silk house coat. Refreshments included jello salad pumpkin bread sandwiches cookies olives and coffee.
Mrs. Felix Gauthier of Animas spent a week visiting Lordsburg for business, exploring local enterprises and meeting with area professionals. Her trip focused on networking opportunities and potential collaborations.
Mountainview Cemetery Association hosts a Saturday food sale starting 9 30 am at Community Public Service Company venue.
