Regulation of Gila River Urged to Expand Upstream Storage

A proposal urges upstream storage on the Gila with a 200000 acre foot reservoir to save 55000 acre feet for San Carlos and Florence-Casa Grande. Current losses exceed 200000 annually in Duncan. Rights suggest 40300 acres irrigable above Coolidge, storage could raise to about 80000 acres and double regional production.
