City Approves TV Franchise After Council Meeting
Lordsburg approved a seven year franchise with automatic renewal up to 25 years. The grantee must maintain 21 basic channels plus 3 pay channels, keep current rates for six months, and pay 3 percent of gross receipts. Amendments include daily penalties for data or testing failures and 50 per day for ongoing service shortfalls. Effective 30 days post approval. In other business Bill Oliver sought to vacate a 50 by 50 foot Copper Street dead end.

Thanksgiving Services Set For Sunday Lordsburg
A community wide Thanksgiving service will be held Sunday November 24 at 6 30 PM at First Methodist Church to give thanks for blessings. Rev Ed Kerr of Church of Christ will deliver the message with special music from several local churches. The Lordsburg Ministerial Alliance sponsors the event.

Animas School Board Adopts Meetings Act
The Animas Regular School Board met on Tuesday November 12 and approved an open meetings resolution. It sets a three day notice for special meetings and 24 hour notice for emergency notices. The board plans a February 4 1992 bond issue to renovate the old high school middle school and old gym to house eighth graders in 92 93, plus general renovations and new facilities. Enrollment stood at 509 512, with talks on collective bargaining and letters to officials. Harriet DeBusk Kay Baker and Lisa Jasso named as new cheerleading and drill team sponsors.

The 1991 Christmas Tree Festival at Animas L D S Church in Cotton City NM marks the 14th annual event.
