Thursday night a large crowd welcomed a Methodist preacher and his wife in the undercroft of the church. Superintendent Mayfield and Mrs. Tom J. Mayfield attended from the Baptist church as guests. Mrs. C. C. Fuller and Mrs. Thelma Ross directed an elaborate buffet and entertainment. Poage and other local figures participated, and the couple quickly won a warm place in the hearts of the congregation.

Quail Season Limited in Select New Mexico Counties
The State Game Warden announced no general quail season this year due to bird shortages. Limited hunting is allowed in Grant, Luna, Hidalgo, Dona Ana, Sierra, Socorro, and part of Valencia east of the Field Suwanee road from November 16 to 30 with a daily bag of 10 birds and 30 birds per hunter for the season. Hunters are urged to comply to protect future quail supplies.

Rainbow Assembly 17 Holds Patriotic Meeting at Methodist Church
About twenty Rainbow Girls from Assembly No 17 gathered at the Methodist church for a patriotic event benefiting Masons and friends. Heavy cattle shipments by Tom Clayton and Son
Tom Clayton and Son have bought and shipped this season in the Lordaburg territory more than six thousand head of cattle. The stock from calves to mature cattle is reported in better condition than in many years. Deputy inspector L A Bradberry notes this week's shipments, many cars, top the year in both quantity and weight.
