Mr and Mrs Omer Masters announce the birth of a daughter Sally Evelyn Masters born November 10 in Albuquerque weighing six pounds thirteen ounces.
The Woman's Club holds its regular meeting Monday at 3 p.m. with a public book review by Mrs. R. E. Buvens scheduled for 4 p.m.
Mrs. Fred Gilman mother of Frank Weldon Jr of Las Vegas checked in at DeMoss Hospital yesterday for a routine visit with her long time physician. The Gilmans enjoyed a scenic summer drive from Las Vegas to El Paso and along the Pacific coast. While in Central City California they viewed the first torpedoed American ship sighted on the West Coast. Mrs. Gilman notes a nearby giant plant mining strategic minerals operating thirteen miles from Las Vegas with workers moving 13 000 cars daily at about 69 percent capacity.
Central School intermediate grades present a patriotic musical pageant Your Land and Mine by Lily Strickland in the school gymnasium on Wednesday November 25 The program traces the flag theme with a children's chorus of over two hundred voices An afternoon show for students and guests and an 8 pm evening performance are scheduled All are invited to attend.
The 1943 licenses were issued at the Office of the City Clerk starting Monday November 16. Application forms are available at City Hall for the 1943 licenses and applicants must hold a valid 1942 New Mexico Driver's License before applications are accepted.
Mr and Mrs J R Poindexter treated friends to a wild turkey dinner Saturday evening. The bird was killed by Bob during a hunting trip. Guests included Dr and Mrs R E Buvens, Mr and Mrs Donald Johnson, Mr and Mrs G P Jeffre and P M McInnis.
The B Sharp Music Club presented a large audience program at the Mathidist Church Monday night featuring the Ewing family with Carol Krewnon Mise Thelma Richins Mrs Harold Scofield and Prof Glenn Phillips as guest artists. The program opened with scriptural text readings on music and included piano solos duets vocal selections readings and quartet numbers highlighting Anna Beth Lois Jimmie and others with varied titles such as The Minstrel Boy Gypsy Rondo The Last Mile Marie and The Long Long Trail. A Liberal reporter noted Mrs Fuller deserves praise for sponsoring such an entertaining and cultural club and that music lovers would enjoy every program.
The Office of Defense Transportation delays the Certificate of War Necessity to December 1 and the Office of Price Administration extends nationwide gas rationing to December 1. Temporary gas rationing may be issued after December 1 to applicants not yet approved. Vehicle tire inspections remain between November 16 and January 16. Farmers urged to file immediately. apply for the BUA form through the ODT or County Agent Paul Hudson.
Tex Collins of Willcox and Tom B. Gee paid the top price for cows at 10.80 per hundred pounds, the highest rate reported in New Mexico or Arizona this fall.

Col. C. G. Sage and Col. H. M. Peck to receive distinguished service medals in Santa Fe on December 7. Maj. Gen. Richard Donovan to present, with Brig. Gen. Chariton coordinating. both officers believed held as Japanese prisoners in the Philippines. Ceremony at the high school stadium with state figures and military bands.
The new air terminal at El Paso was formally dedicated drawing thousands of vehicles. Officials from the army navy Marines and local leaders attended. The terminal was named for mayor Ed Anderson and a banquet at the Hotel Cortez closed the celebration led by Chamber of Commerce figure Chris Fox. Southern New Mexico representatives from Las Cruces and Lordsburg joined the event, a milestone in regional aeronautical history.
The Army Wives, Pythian Sisters, and Womans Club sold the most War Bonds and Stamps in October. As of November, $8,927.90 has been raised since October 17 with bonds at $8,393.75 and stamps $524.16. The article urges every woman to volunteer weekly as a patriotic gesture.

The WPB in Washington directs El Paso and Lordsburg officials to abandon outdoor decorative lighting this Christmas to conserve critical materials and electricity. Indoor lights are allowed. outdoor displays could save about 60 million kilowatt hours, aiding wartime conservation efforts. Mr and Mrs J T Wells of Cananea spent the weekend with Mrs Olivia Wells.
