A Monday night card at Hallroad arena delivered fast paced action as Roy Welch of Lordsburg defeated Black of Chicago in a three fall main event. Welch won the first fall with a Japanese side hold after 16 minutes and the second in nine with a cradle split. Black nearly toppled Welch on several occasions, helped by referee Jack Williams of Dallas. The third fall ended in six minutes of gruelling effort as Welch slammed Black for a forward pin. The semi final saw Balta Salinas defeat Manuel Castorena in two straight falls, with Chevo Vasquez set to face Salinas next Monday. The undercard boxing provided more rough entertainment, though six scheduled rounds drew no contestants.

James Willoughby of Duncan left the hospital Thursday after medical treatment. Noel Jones of Animas is hospitalized with a fractured leg. An unnamed patient who had an appendectomy earlier was discharged last Saturday.
