Christmas Tree Cutting Opens in New Mexico Forests
Southwestern Regional Forester Hurst announced that National Forests in New Mexico will open for Christmas tree cutting with permits required from the ranger in charge. A $1 fee applies for trees up to eight feet. hours are eight to five daily. Weekend permits available November 27 through December 19 at Signal Peak Meadow Creek Snow Creek areas.

New License Plates Go On Sale December 15 1971
Commissioner David Arioste of the Department of Motor Vehicles announced that the new reflectorized plates, authorized by the 1971 legislature, will be on sale December 15 1971. Vehicle owners should bring all re registration forms to the nearest office to re register for 1972 and allow staff to correct errors. Aimed to purge and update master vehicle files, plates will be issued to passenger cars motorcycles and various vehicle categories. stickers to trailers trucks school buses and other groups. Horseless carriages must re register every five years with new plates issued in 1972. Deadline without penalty is March 2 1972.
