Trustees Hold Key Meeting On Village Merits And Repairs

The Village of Lordsburg Board of Trustees met Monday night to review funds for acquiring premises for a fair, discuss reorganizing the village hall, and plan remodeling the fire station. An annual audit praised municipal finances while steps to collect water bills and an electric ordinance were debated for future action.

Lions Club meeting in Kimura hosts guests and grants membership

The Lions Club held a meeting with guests Harold Schulze and Charley Schulze visiting from Lordsburg. TM Glass was elected a member after presenting a tribute to Lordsburg and Hidalgo County. A ladies night was announced for Thursday and Monday. A district basket tournament was planned for March with Lions Sanders appointing members to assist business men. Funds were raised for livestock fair facilities with Lordsburg donors contributing cash for land purchase and building work.

Wright and Dietz Meet NM Officials on Elephant Butte Power

Lea L. Wright president of the Southwestern New Mexico Power Association and J. T. Dietz of Milwaukee met with Secretary Holt of the New Mexico Power Commission on Wednesday. Wright prepared figures of interest for those planning to use electricity from Elephant Butte and looked ahead to a power meeting in Deming Saturday afternoon with Southwestern Power Association representatives.

Shakespeare Club Discusses Tem pest in Lordsburg

The Junior National Shakespeare Club of America met on Saturday November 12 at Mrs. Herman Gustafson's home. Members discussed a story of Shakespeare's Tem pest and acted it out. The group named themselves The Lordsburg Midsummer Nights Dream with Katherine Messecar as president Henry Ellison as vice president and Glen Ross as secretary.
