District Judge Numa C. Frenger spoke at the Luncheon Club praising New Mexicans, highlighting Lordsburg hospital aviation field and a new court house, and urging state pride and local and regional cooperation. He lauded Phelps-Dodge activity in Lordsburg and urged broadcasting the state song at proper events.
Miss Gladys Parks of Lordsburg New Mexico married Mr David Smith last Saturday November 6 in Harrison Arkansas The ceremony was conducted by Rev Lee Darnell at Central Avenue Methodist Church The couple will reside at the Ozark Hotel in Harrison and Miss Parks recently left her Lordsburg post office job to begin married life with many friends offering congratulations
President Wm Sproule of the Southern Pacific with A E Sweet L A Morris and F L Guy arrived by special train Tuesday before noon. In the afternoon Walter Douglas SP director and Phelps Dodge president, with General Manager P D Beckett, rode No 11 en to Globe.
Mrs Rose Powers visits Duncan to be with her daughter Mrs H O Johnson who is recovering from illness and showing improvement.
The Hidalgo County Board awarded the contract for a new court house after five bidders. Jack Heather of Lordsburg bid 32582 dollars with adjustments lowering his lead over rivals to 1515 dollars. Demolition of the Knights of Pythias building has begun and ground will be broken next Monday for the project. The cornerstone ceremony is set for December 18 with Governor Hannett possibly attending. Local booster J A McNabb Jr and Judge Ryan expected to participate.

They urged support for aviation, noted plans to obtain Bolling pursuit planes, and praised southern air ways as the future cross country route. Captain H W Campbell recently earned the Schiff trophy from President Coolidge for hours flown without incident.

A union Thanksgiving service will be held at the Methodist church Thursday evening November 25 at 7 o clock. W Bailor pastor of the Christian church will deliver the address and the public is cordially invited.
The Church of Christ states Pastor W. Bailor will preach Sunday morning and afternoon at Red Rock and again at the regular evening hour. Other meetings follow the usual schedule.

In a letter to the editor Governor elect R. C. Dillon known as Governor Dick says he has not forgotten the promise to visit Lordsburg. He plans to come sometime next Spring after arranging business and notes he will cycle to Santa Fe on January first before returning to see the town again.
The Lordshire Foot Ball Club hosts a Thanksgiving dance at the Railroad Club in Lordsburg starting at 9:00 p m with the Ginger Plies Orchestra of Silver City providing music. Proceeds support athletics and the club, aiding the season and local boys who contributed to the football program.
Mrs F L Jones acted as hostess to the N and T Club on Tuesday with special guests Mrs Crocker, Mrs Green, and Mrs Seliman attending the event.
