Rev. David E. Moore pastor of the First Baptist Church for four years tendered his resignation at Sunday morning services on November 5. The resignation was accepted with considerable regret as the congregation learns of his departure from the city.
Mayor Charles C. Martin proclaims November 23 as Thanksgiving Day in Lordsburg. He recalls Abraham Lincoln fixing Thanksgiving by proclamation during a divided era and urges faith that right makes might while urging citizens to do their duty.
The 1950 Christmas Seal Sale opens Monday November 20 with mail campaigns in all 32 counties. Campaign chair Luella Clark serves for the 12th year, joined by county president Jack Heather and secretary-treasurer Earle Kerr. Seals fund tuberculosis control through care, education, and rehabilitation, with 94 percent staying in New Mexico and six percent sent to the National Tuberculosis Association.

She is a 1950 Lordsburg High School graduate active in Press Club Junior class offices Student Council Annual Staff and senior play.
The final payment of 2000 dollars on the 40000 dollar bonds issued in 1926 for Hidalgo County courthouse construction was made on November 3, 1950. Hidalgo County formed January 1, 1920 from Grant County. named for Father Hidalgo.
A Lordsburg club meeting is set for Monday at 2 30 PM at the East Fourth street clubhouse. After business, a Thanksgiving program led by Mrs Claude C Fuller includes assembly singing by H Vearle Payne an reading by Mrs Freeman McWhorter and two solos by Mrs Robert Miller with Lordsburg ministers to attend.
PTA announces Parents Night at the regular meeting on Monday November 20. Grades will hold classes at 7 30 PM and the high school will host a citizenship program led by class officers. Parents are invited to visit classrooms to see daily routines and divide time among children. The PTA membership drive totals 202 new members with prizes awarded to top classes.
The Lordsburg Liberal announces a Thanksgiving week schedule change with publication moved to Wednesday November 22 due to the holiday on November 23. Advertising and news items must be submitted by Tuesday noon.
