Commission Seeks Playas Road Funding From State Legislature
Hidalgo County Commission during the November 12 session sought state funds to complete the last five miles of Playas road and improve arterial and school bus routes for 1992-1993. They plan to move two miles of Burgett road improvement, transfer P D railroad crossing duties to the highway department, and install stop signs. Bid awards included a Tractor Mower for Artesia Ford at 4500 plus 650 delivery and Tamarac winning a 7327 fence contract for the Virden Transfer site.

Funeral Services Held Here Tuesday For Daniel Deporto
Daniel Martinez Deporto, 30, of Lordsburg, died November 6, 1991 in Tucson. A Catholic and construction worker, he was laid to rest after funeral services at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Lordsburg and burial in Shakespeare Cemetery. Survivors include his parents, wife Debra, two sons, four daughters, three brothers, four sisters, with services entrusted to Baca's Hillcrest Funeral Chapels.
