Southern California Football Squad on Special Train to Chicago

The Southern California team led by Coach Howard Jones arrived Wednesday with twelve coaches and 38 players. Garrett Arbelbide greeted his grandfather and family in Lordsburg as the squad prepared for workouts. The group expects to meet Notre Dame in Chicago and possibly hear the Saturday game on radio.

Women's Missionary Society Quilting Session

The Women's Missionary Society of the Baptist Church met Wednesday afternoon at Mrs. Frank Corbell's home. There was no lesson this week as the time was spent quilting for the mission. Willcox man visits Lordsburg and Rodeo area

Mr. Walker of Willcox Arizona spent Friday and Saturday in Lordsburg on business. He met Mr. and Mrs. F I Jones and Mrs. Hale Chenowth with two children. They spent the weekend at the Chenowth Ranch near Rodeo.

Christian Convention at Clovis New Mexico

Delegates from New Mexico and West Texas attended a Christian Church convention at the First Christian Church of Clovis. The program included open forum discussions, a banquet, and six 20 minute talks by visiting preachers. Mr Hadwin led singing and played a piano solo at the banquet and evening program.

Bedrock church to host evangelistic service next Sunday

Warner Visit Highlights New Safety Brake In Car

Mr and Mrs C H Warner arrived from the East and visited Lordaburg friends for a few days. Mr Warner drives a new Stutz Sedan fitted with Warner improved electric brake claimed to control the car to within an inch or less. Auto experts say nothing equals it and manufacturers are studying its market potential for next year. Public enthusiasm for their innovations is noted as a sign of easy adoption.

Road To New Mexico College To Be Oiled

The state highway department started oiling roads to the New Mexico College of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts. The road from paved highway No. 0 at Mesilla Park to the campus and the campus horseshoe road will be oiled and finished within two months, improving access for students and visitors.

Autumn Festival by Schools Postponed to Late November

The Central Primary Program scheduled for Friday November 15 is postponed to the following Friday for a combined event with Wilson School. The Wilson Central Thanksgiving Festival will feature pageants dancing tableaux plays readings and music to benefit Wilson School and the music department. Luncheon Club Banquet Draws Warm Attendance

The Business Men's Luncheon Club held a Monday night banquet in the new W H Small building on West Hallroad Avenue with strong attendance. Revival at the Nazarene church, begun November 10, draws growing attendance. Twenty have come forward for prayer, many as happy friends.
