Lordsburg Man Killed in Auto Crash Near Tucson

Roy Bruner twenty four-year-old Piggly Wiggly clerk from Lordsburg died when a Chrysler plunged off a road near Tucson. Wes Wilkerson and Mrs Wilkerson were injured while Mrs Christian and others escaped with minor cuts and bruises. The accident occurred during an Armistice day outing with neighbors Father W Wilkerson and Roy Bruner’s family rushing to hospital.

Immigrant George Gargis Files Land Claim Near Lordsburg

George Gargis and his wife traveled from Missouri and stayed in Lordsburg a day or two. They were impressed by the country and Gargis filed on a section of land south of town to make a home in the sunny territory. He has several years of service in the U S Navy and is described as a young man of fine appearance.

Luckie Victory By Three Votes In Hidalgo Probate Race

In Hidalgo county the recount confirmed Democrat Gene Luckie won probate judge by three votes over Republican Wil land Holt. The only change came from Animas precinct increasing Luckie to twenty eight and Holt to twenty four. all other precincts remained near-even. Official totals list Democrats winning most county offices with Holt narrowly carrying one Republican seat.
