The Quartermaster office held a barn dance on October 31 at M. M. Owens ranch. Students wore costumes from country lids to caballeros as lanterns and corn stalks framed the event and a midnight lunch was served. Guests included Cpl. Fred E. Kenepp and Mrs, Sgt. Stephen Dunagan a pioneer widow aged 46 hunted deer at Animas Mountain summit 461 feet high. She made one shot and got one deer then drank water from a government fountain at the height. She plans to spend winter with her sons in Blythe California and is noted for her activity.
