Superintendent C A Houser of Lordsburg extols the town’s growth and facilities during a teachers convention visit. He notes a 2000 population, a large cattle trade, a premier southwest airport, bonds for a 40000 dollar courthouse, a 55000 dollar high school expansion, and a strong Smith Hughes program. He outlines 400 pupils, 144 in high school, 16 city teachers, 18 seniors, 10 teachers with AB degrees, and adoption of progressive classroom methods.

PTA Program Highlights Nov 15 Night

The Parent Teacher Association program committee has arranged for the grades and primary department to fill next Monday evening with physical exercises folk dancing readings recitations and songs. It promises to be a program worth seeing.

Earl Garrett a noted Continental oil man ran out of gas about a mile from town last Saturday. A passing tourist gave him a lift after spotting his honest face.

Giants Pears Reighn at Red Rock Grown West of Gordon Ranch

In November 1926 the aircraft Josephine Ford piloted by Floyd Bennett dropped a mail letter over Lordsburg New Mexico as part of its North Pole tour. A crowd gathered as the giant monoplane circled the town and delivered a formal air mail message to the Lordsburg Chamber of Commerce.
