The Duncan News reports Mrs. Coon gave birth to a 6 pound son at Phelps Dodge hospital in Clifton. Nurse announcement to Stanley W Coon described both mother and baby as doing well. Stanley will need a larger hat. Bettie Maclean of Los Angeles visits Mrs. Robert H Dickson.
A motor accident near Lee Station claimed the life of Tin Blevins, a noted cowman, while W B Conner and party traveling from Douglas encountered the wreck. Levine, driving his own vehicle, lost steering on a steep grade, leading to a fatal crash. Cowman died shortly after.
D C Sprouse suffered severe burns while pulling a switch at the α mine. The incident occurred several days ago when the current shifted to his left side. He remains in serious condition despite medical care and careful nursing.
Dr. Paul Austin and the whale party led by Gene Luckie and J. T Austin totaled eleven ducks from one shot in Mexico. They also brought down four deer from the southern republic. The group reported a bulky time in the bargain.
Imogene Pannell and Martin J. Foley wed in Deming on Saturday October 24 with Rev. J T Redman presiding. The bride is a Valedon teacher and Foley runs the Clifton Southern Pacific freight house. On Sunday the families arrived to celebrate.
Charles Johnson has spent four weeks in Redlands California at the Weger Health School and is glad to be back in Lordsburg New Mexico. He praises Redlands but says nothing beats the climate and water of Lordsburg.
J. E. Devine has been scouting Arizona for mining and oil prospects and is confident he has found promising sites. He plans to pursue inquiries and potential partnerships with local firms and investors.
Prominent Virden farmers report strong yields with 12,000 dollars of potatoes shipped through the Potato Growers Association, the finest cotton crop, and Valencia onions noted as world leaders. Next Friday the community will lay the cover stone of a new high school building with many Lordsburg residents attending.
Sides, a prominent ranch man and orange grower, of California, bought 100 acres south of Animas at ten dollars per acre. He harvested 00 tons of hay this year worth 8 per ton. He will plant Valencia onions next year and irrigate, digging a well for permanent water. He sees great possibilities in this valley and welcomes more Californians.
According to San Juan Review Aztec Supt Nicholas of Banta Fe Continental reports Hatdleslake No 17 in San Juan field producing 2500 barrels of oil and 29 million cubic feet of wet gas daily. Dakota sand penetrated 64 feet with heavy gas flow from bottom. test to extend to Pennsylvania formation likely.
Mary Agnes Cureton entertained a group of children at a Halloween party on Saturday evening. Guests included Donald Scott Lowell Jones Tommie Ruth Gee Harbor Dora Elton Heather Mildred Wood Mary Elizabeth Margaret O Brien Walter Horton Evelyn Killebrew and the hostess. Mrs Gilbert and daughters served a luncheon.
Mrs. Imogene Parnell Foley received a delightful miscellane ous shower at Mrs. W Asprey’s home Tuesday evening. Guests brought many fine gifts and an elaborate wedding cake from Mrs. J J Hughes. A luncheon was served.
Community call to attend church next Sunday urging participation and shared worship in a neighborhood gathering.
Frank Black procured a large casing in Los Angeles and loaded it on a flat car. It is ready to be moved to Well No 1 where the pit is prepared to receive it. Driller Tre Geverance and his team will resume active drilling once the casing is placed.

The Co-Operative mine has reached the sixth level with drifting started. Large storage tanks for the mill are completed and being filled with water in preparation for startup. The fifth level drift reaches 28 feet and remains rich ore. General Manager HH, GC. Waiter departed last night for the Emat.
A delegation from the Woman's Club led by Mrs. Wo Stvall and Mrs. KA Keon protested to the council Monday evening against holding a circus in Lordshire on Sunday. Churches joined in, but the council could not revoke the license since it had already been granted and paid for. The report ends with a vow for future action.
Dr and Mrs Weeks of Dallas with a friend who proved to be a sharper planned a Florida trip but turned back after a mutiny of trust. They luncheon with Mr and Mrs Wilkinson, then traveled home passing Lordsburg where the Wilkinsons expressed concern for their welfare.
The handsome billie owned by Ed Wood won a first premium at the Ban Angelo fair last week. The animal drew the blue ribbon for its fine appearance and quality.
The Bonney mine shows water levels dropped over fifty feet due to large pumping operations. Mr. Foster reports no objections to continuing the pumping effort as the water recedes.
Division Supt Morris and staff visit Liberal office and participate in a program with Invocations, songs by the Glee Club, addresses by Major Robert H Dickson and Rev V Williams, vocal solos by Mrs J G Koogler and others, Taps by Chas Jeffus, and a benediction looking west.
