Mavericks finish the season with a Homecoming game against a Hot Springs team. The Mavericks and staff aim to avoid a loss and preserve a clean conference record despite a modest opponent. Continued on page five.
The Lordsburg eighth and ninth grade football team lost 13 to 0 at Silver City after a halftime 14 0 deficit. Micky Arambula scored on two runs of 30 and 10 yards. Banny Rend en tered the remaining 20 yards for a Lordsburg TD. Players Tibbs Corbell Flores Ramirez Ruiz starred on the line.
Residents enjoyed a mainly quiet Hallowe en with children collecting treats and a single major incident, the breaking of several windows at the new high school. Pranks included deflating tires and tipping trash barrels. A Central grade school carnival drew a large crowd, benefiting the P T A and high school groups with concession funds.
Reverend and Mrs Arthur Shaw were in a minor automobile accident near Glenwood New Mexico when a tire went flat and the car rolled over, landing on its wheels again. Mrs Shaw was hospitalized with cuts and bruises but both occupants escaped serious injury and Mr Shaw resumed duties.
Notice states all business houses will be closed on Armistice Day November 11.

The B semi finals between Lordsburg and Santa Rosa, originally set for November 1, will now be played Thursday evening November 10 at the Highschool Athletic field here.
In Lordsburg, students organized a donation drive to cover about $20 in broken glass from Halloween damage. The Student Council thanked teachers for allowing open discussion and pledged to repair the harm while condemning the few responsible.
The Liberal staff declares all news and ads must be in by 5 PM Wednesday due to Armistice Day and a Friday football game. The editor plans to hunt deer and the society editor travels Thursday night, prompting priority scheduling for the upcoming issue.
