The Am Legion Auxiliary held a Sunday meeting in Las Cruces with a luncheon served by the Cruces unit. Delegates from Central, Deming, Hatch, Hillsboro, Springs, Hurley, Las Cruces, Silver City attended and heard Virginia McManus of Las Cruces discuss her trip to Washington, D. C. as a Girl's Nation candidate.

Lordsburg Lions Club held a noon meeting at the Westerner cafe chaired by President Dick Rice. Plans for the charter anniversary and Ladies Night on Tuesday Nov 8 at 6 30 pm at the Westerner were discussed. Miss Marlene Pierce was named Sun Princess candidate for the Sun Bowl in El Paso on New Year’s Day. Virginia Becht gave two readings. Second Test Well Planned in Rodeo Region

Kenneth Morrison of Morrison Drilling announced plans for a second test well in the upper San Simor valley near the New Mexico border northeast of Douglas Arizona. The company intends three to four wells to confirm water producing strata across the upper valley, following a test well sunk last year on the valley’s east side.
