A Ford dealer visitor reported the first Ford museum pieces, the 15 millionth Model T and the first Model A. He said the west will see new Ford models soon and production could reach 11 000 cars daily once the factory is fully up to speed.
The Standard Service Station at the corner of Railroad Avenue and High Street opens for business this week. Owned by Short & Son, it features a handsome white building with four pumps and attractive night illumination. The owners buy gas in tank cars.
Mr and Mrs A J Balmforth completed a lengthy trip through Utah Idaho Montana Washington Oregon California Nevada Arizona and New Mexico. They arrived home on No 104 Monday afternoon to a welcome from family and friends.
Miss Beulah Creamer entertained a Sunday School class at a Halloween dinner Saturday evening at eight o clock at the Manhattan Cafe. Attendees included Misses Lucile Dee Tommie Gee Adatonise Conner Nadine Causland Gracie Conner Callie Hales Myrtle Gilmore Emiline Rhoades Dora Noling Cleo anther Jesus Costello Florence Waites and Mrs Rh B Ownby plus the hostess.
The Deming and Lordsburg town teams meet on Sunday at 3:00 PM in Lordsburg. The event features ex college players and seasoned gridiron men, promising the season’s most thrilling football. Come out in strong support of our team.

Anna Pratt returns to work in R. M. Reynolds' office after an eight month stay in New York. She has dropped her married name and now uses Miss Anna Pratt, and will live with Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds.

The first Hidalgo County 4 H Club Contest occurred in Lordsburg at the Muir Birchfield building on Saturday. Virden and Rodeo teams demonstrated sewing and cooking, with Virden taking first place, Rodeo girls third, and Sto Deo boys second. Winners advance to the state contest at State College in December.
The obituary notes Cyril H James renowned mining engineer and geologist on the Pacific coast. He worked with N A Fuller on mining projects and died after illness leading to a funeral in Silver City attended by Lordsburg residents. He hailed from a prominent English family. brother Tristram James serves as lieutenant colonel in the English Navy.
Dr F W Butler, a young physician long in Duncan, has been appointed to a senior position at the Phelps Dodge hospital in Clifton, effective November first. His Lordsburg friends predict notable success for him.
Deming defeats Lordsburg 12 to 6 in a hard fought gridiron clash. Deming builds from a 95 yard fumble return and a late defensive stand to secure the win as Lordsburg pushes for late safety.
Livector W. L. Elser of the PX tension service gave a mighty address at the luncheon club on Tuesday. Chair Gleason spoke for Mr Cross, who was AWOL On business. Elser urged a new division for services, paid by space occupied, with three Ts to form a productive permanent and pleasant system. He praised the permanent approach over the in and outer and urged improvements in labor, schools, churches, and homes. Supt. Smith noted 1,300 items and spikes picked by grade children and suggested paying them for this effort. Mr Wells to chair next week.
Mohair growers from New Mexico Arizona and western Texas sold a 254000 point pool in El Paso on Thursday Oct 27 with Sibye per pound highest bid by Roberts Crateten Worsted Mills. Average price across the region was about 75 cents per pound, prompting plans for a large cooperative marketing organization with a December meeting in El Paso to formalize it.
A Sunday School extract quotes Jimnes about a man who wastes hundreds on a prized dog and costly pleasures while claiming religious generosity. The piece, signed by pastor W W Wilkerson of a Baptist church, questions his use of God’s money.

Virden sends best wishes to Butler in his new surroundings. Ted Payne complains about range stock raiding his corn. Virden High School basketball debuts in new uniforms against Clifton next week. Thirty new library books were added to the Virden school.
Miller and Lindbergh aviation figures capped a visit in Lordsburg with a story laden afternoon. Miller, who has flown in 40 states and countries, recalled early flights with Lindbergh at Little Path Minne sot and shared anecdotes from Lindbergh’s remarkable career while receiving praise from other aviation fans and local officials.
Pastor John S. Rick invites Lordsburg and nearby residents to attend Dipodist Church services each Sunday with morning and evening preaching. Special youth outreach, choir plans, midweek prayer at 7 20 p m, and Sunday league services at 6 40 p m are highlighted.
