Lordsburg Considers 30k Grant for Recreation Projects

County officials and Lordsburg leaders weighed using a 30 000 matching grant from the Bureau of Dur ation for recreation facilities. Bill Harrison of the Southwest New Mexico Council of Governments urged action or funds could go to another government unit. The city must file an affirmative action plan to spend by July 1 with in kind contributions possible.

Ldsburg Teachers Ready 10 Percent Pay Hike

School budget plans a ten percent pay raise for certified staff. The timing hinges on approval at the June 11 budget hearing led by School Finance Chief Harry Wagaker. Henry Alvarez, school board president, says the increase will benefit certified employees.
