Memorial tribute to fallen soldiers and veterans services

A town memorial day notice invites all to attend memorial services at the Cen 1 School at 10:30 a.m. A program is planned and attendees are asked to march in an orderly procession from City Hall to the gymnasium with the American Legion. Veterans and organizations are urged to participate.

Wedding Bells Mark Lordsburg Nuptials at Methodist Parsonage

Miss Mary Louise McKinney wed Hershel Stoneking last Monday evening at eight o clock in the Lordsburg Methodist church parsonage. Rev Franklin R Poage officiated attended by the bride’s parents Judge and Mrs Wm McKinney. Stoneking a former Odessa resident and wartime internment camp veteran. They plan a short trip and reside on Texas Street.

Southern Pacific chefs devise a Victory Pie with a French topping reducing shortening by 300 pounds and flour by 5200 pounds monthly. A French dressing recipe cuts salad oil use by 66 percent about 90000 quarts yearly without losing flavor. Miss Gloria Gass entertained the Senior Scouts and several young women with a Spanish dinner at her home on Tuesday evening.
