Lordsburg Instrumental and Vocal Festival Set Saturday
The Lordsburg school schedules its annual Junior and Senior High Instrumental and Vocal Festival for Saturday May 2 at 8 00 p m in Central School Gymnasium. Groups include grade 1 beginning band junior high and senior bands junior high mixed chorus junior high girls sextette and high school vocal ensemble involving about 225 students. Admission is 25 cents for adults and 10 cents for students. The program is directed by Laura Yacamo and Roger Brandt.

Lordsburg Municipal Schools expand summer offerings with a Non English Speaking Beginners program at Wilson School from June 6 to July 29. Baccalaureate Service Sunday at Lordsburg High School

Survey of Highway 70 Now Underway Here
A State Highway Department survey crew began work in the Lordsburg area to plan a proposed U S 70 highway from the Arizona New Mexico state line east for about ten miles. Charley L. Hudson leads the crew which will stay about 30 days. No letting date has been set and construction depends on funds and State Highway Commission decisions.
