President Cooke was elected executive vice president and board member of Community Public Company at the Fort meeting held April 22. A 39 year veteran, she succeeds N Parons who retires from the utility. Bowen announced the board seat filling and Cooke’s promotion after the stock meeting. She joined the company in 1927, served in World War II, and later held roles as assistant treasurer, office manager, and executive vice president before current promotion.

Lordsburg Lions Elect Meckworth President At Annual Banquet
Meckworth was elected president of the Lordsburg Lions Club at its annual election. Officers named include Height as first vice president, Ralph Burton as second vice president, Homer Baird as third vice president, Donald McGhee as treasurer, Height as tail? and Homer Brooks as lion. Watershed Needs Studied By County Conservation Group
