The Wind Sail Race drew strong support as wind cooperated for two days at Lordsburg. Eddie Esquivel and Bill Collins faced injuries but upheld sportsmanship. Bob Allred, Darrel Hawkins, and Mike Coogan earned wind sail points of 72 37 and 34 while Hawkins won Best design. three wheeler winners were Tommy Lopez Jerry Santoya Jr. and Dale Byrd.

Fire training for local departments at LHS on liquid gas fires
Firemen from Rodeo Animas Cotton City and Lordsburg attended a Tuesday training at Lordsburg High School led by David Rubio state fire marshal instructor. A donated fuel gas fire demonstration used a metal tree with piping to simulate ignition under varying pressures to teach first line suppression and containment techniques.
