Lordsburg discrimination verdict still under appeal
Attorney General Bill Primm filed three post judgment motions with the Sixth Judicial District Court in Lordsburg appealing a verdict in a discrimination case. The local jury found the City innocent on 14 counts but awarded damages of 1000 to Primo Arvizo and Arturo Talavera, 315 to Eddie Barrio, plus 6 percent interest and Commission costs.

Filing Date Announced For County Candidates
The county clerk sets April 2 1974 as the filing day for declarations of candidacy. Filings occur 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The order on the ballot will be chosen by lot after filing closes, with candidates or their agents allowed to attend. Hidalgo County Sheriff Gene Moore said the death of Regine M Wetselaar, 30, of Lordsburg, is under investigation. She was found semi conscious in her Glen Acres Apartment on Friday and died Saturday after transfers between local hospitals. autopsy performed but results unavailable.
