Mine Rescue Car at Valedon Weeklong Training
Bureau of Mines Car No. 1 operated under the Interior Department directed by the Interior Secretary. It spent the past week at the 8 branch of the C and A mine with daily helmet work instruction for five men and two daily first aid classes producing 36 proficient rescuers. Kenneth Butler and A L Barth led the effort with Major Dickson's cooperation. Car No. 1 conducts training across California Nevada Arizona and Oregon including Lordsburg near the Arizona line, and was moved to Globe after pickup Saturday. The crew urged filling the car with pure water.
