Town of Santa Rita To Be Moved As Mine Operations Expand
The Santa Rita community dating to 1803 will be relocated as Kennecott Copper's Chino Mines expands. About 350 houses face lease terminations with most town areas south of State Highway 90 vacated by 1969 to allow mining progress. North of the highway remains unaffected for now. Residents are relocating to nearby communities in Grant County.

The Hotel Dieu School of Nursing in El Paso invites applicants for a three year program leading to Registered Nurse certification. The school, 67 years old and nationally accredited, serves the tri state area and is operated by the Daughters of Charity. Burglars Loot Central Bar in Early Morning Break-In
Cen tral Bar was broken into in the early morning hours on Thursday. About $200 in bar receipts were stolen along with cigarettes liquor and coins from the music machine and pool table. Sheriff Leroy McCarty and Patrolman Bernadro Richardson investigated for clues and fingerprints.

Highway Engineer Dies in State Highway 90 Crash
Samuel K. Davidson, 34, of vinta Fe, an engineer with the State Highway Dept., died when his car overturned on State Highway 90 near Gold Gulch between Lordshoro and Silver City. He was the eighth traffic fatality in Grant County this year. State Policeman Gene Tow cited high speed as the cause. Davidson was thrown clear.
