Hidalgo County Hospital welcomes two new medical devices donated by a local physician-surgeon. A Mechanaire oxygen tent costing 800 dollars arrived in February, aiding pneumonia patients such as Mrs. Tom Davis whose fever dropped after use. New Power Line To Central by CPS Completed
The 66 K W high power line from Lordsburg to Central was completed on March 3 1951 at 4 32 PM. R L Bowen president of the Community Public Service Co closed the switch energizing the line, forming a two way feeder loop to Silver City and the mining district to prevent power failures. The crew worked three man hour days off due to accidents and were honored at a stag dinner at the Manhattan cafe in Silver City with attendees from Fort Worth and local offices.
