Lordsburg Highway Commission Visit Highlights New Project

A Lordsburg visit by the state and district highway engineers and officials reviewed the proposed underpass west of Union Station. Attendees included state Engineer Echols and Secretary Baca with local figures from Hidalgo County and Las Cruces. Marion Hobart of Minnesota Arizona is guest of Robert Harpham. They and Miss Dorothy Stengrwele and Bertha Scofield are Tempestate Teachers College graduates. The group traveled to Mimerea Hot Springs for health benefit then returned Sunday evening after a picnic en route.

Pioneer Drake Well to become memorial preservation site

The Drake well at Titusville Penna the first producing oil well in the United States will be preserved as a memorial. A movement by Pennsylvania oil men seeks to finance a memorial reservation around the site with a park museum and protection against spring floods.
